Are politicians taking us backward?

Politics, a strong word which has different meaning for different people. I will define it as a social process with the help of which collective power is formed, organized, disseminated and used in various social structures. The main aim of political system of a country is to help the society and its people at various steps in order to make the country developed and strong.

A political party is known by its politicians. The role of a politician is to deal with national issues. They should be determined at improving the economic, financial, military strength of the country. Economic development of all the sections of the society should be the aim of politicians. People expect good qualities in a politician. They expect them to be trustworthy.
But now a days politics has become a business, where a small group of people control the ‘affairs’ of politics, for selfish gains. Political corruption has become a dominant mode of corruption in modern time. Politicians try to rise and remain in power by any means right or wrong.

If we talk about Indian politics, it is often described as feisty, controversial, debatable and corrupt. If we ask one question about Indian politics there will be thousands of perspective. People are never shocked when politician’s corruption is divulged. It looks like politicians aim to rule on people or to be in ‘Power’ and for the fulfillment of this aim, they violate morals and ethical norms and evade law to gain political power.

People here select their representatives through vote, they have a belief that the person they are electing will work for their welfare and well being. But what politicians are doing is just playing with our sentiments and belief. Their actions not only affect each individual but also lead whole country towards downfall. They are directly or indirectly taking us to the darker side.

It is time for the people to raise their voice and question their leaders and political parties, and force them to change for the better. If we are a responsible citizen of our country, then we should never encourage it and rather urge the people to adopt a path of righteousness and morality.
